TEC NEON 2017

Recently, Tarumanegara English Club (TEC) has just held The TEC NEON 2017, it stands for National English Competition with the theme “LIGHT - Let your IntelliGence sHines Through. With more than 20 institutions all around Indonesia, the event was held on March, 17th-18th 2017 in Tarumanegara University consisting of 4 fields, such as, speech, storytelling, newscasting, and scrabble.

As an English student organization, BINUS English Club (BNEC) who aims to educate and contribute to the wider educational world, participated in this competition to give learning platform for its members and talents. There were 11 delegates who represented BNEC where 2 people for Speech, 2 for Newscasting, 2 for Storytelling, and 5 for Scrabble.

The competition that was held for 2 days was tough either in every round or the competitors. Some of the competitors even have joined international competitions, for instance, The 2017 Asian English Olympics. However, despite the challenging rounds, BNEC has gained 2 achievements, Floryan Akerina as the 3rd winner of Speech Competition and Sonnia Prayoga as the 3rd winner of Newscasting Competition.

In spite of having so many competitors, apparently friendship was built there where participants were not coming only to gain achievements, but warm atmosphere was also ignited there. At the end, seeing such achievements that we have gained, BNEC aims to produce and improve more English skills needed for its members and talents.
