English Language Day is celebrated every 23 April worldwide. The purpose of commemorating this day is to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity by exploring languages. In addition, this day is also traditionally known as William Shakespeare’s birthday.

BNEC as a student organization that provides English language learning facilities at BINUS University also celebrates this day. English language day has been an annual celebration for BNEC since 2019, and in 2021, BNEC once again celebrated this event. This event was done by collaboration between the Public Relations division and the Brand Management division. Due to the COVID-19 situation, this mini-campaign was held online on BNEC’s Instagram.

This year, to celebrate English Language Day, BNEC held this mini-campaign for 12 days from 23rd April until 4th May, plus one day before the event (22nd April) as a sneak peek for the actual event. The theme we bring this year is “Improve and Enrich English Knowledge in Daily Life”. With this theme, BNEC wants to raise people’s awareness about English language day, increase people’s knowledge by providing them with educational content to enrich the audience’s grammar, vocabulary, etc., daily life conversations, raise the audience’s awareness about the importance of English in everydays’ life, and improve BNEC’s branding.

By organizing this year’s English Language Day, BNEC emphasizes its purpose as a learning platform for everyone, whether Binusian or non-Binusian.
