It's both relieving and refreshing to watch an entertaining TV program with values worth to watch. But do you know that behind all the shining lights, unique concept of programs, and good-looking casts, there is always a never-ending brainstorm and complex work plans that require effective people coordination?
On October 12, 2018, BNEC attended one of BINUS TV Club's annual events. They conducted a seminar and talk show "ARE YOU READY? Life Behind the Screen". This event aims to introduce broadcasting world and explains how the crews run TV programs. "We choose this theme because we want Binusian to know the process and stages that every crew needs to face when producing a TV program, from the crews' perspective behind the screen," said Audina as the Project Director of "ARE YOU READY? Life Behind the Screen".
A well-crafted theme isn't complete without the presence of experienced speakers. This year, BINUS TV Club invited two speakers who are experts in their respective fields. Each speaker delivered interesting topics based on their experience. The first speaker is Ms. Hotmariati Elizabeth Poerba, the Executive Producer of NET TV, and the second speaker is Mr. Rahmat Edi Irawan, the Vice President of Service from NET TV.
Ms. Hotmariati presented about stages of preparation, execution, and evaluation. Creative-thinking and teamwork are very important in every stage of producing TV programs. Besides that, maintaining a good quality program requires the ability to work in details and persistence. "In making a TV program, everything about the event details cannot be a surprise. A rehearsal is mandatory in every event, and every crew must know what will happen during the show to minimize errors in the real execution," said Ms. Hotmariati, explaining about the importance of coordination between crews.
After the seminar, there was also a talk show with Mr. Rahmat. Mr. Rahmat, who works in a high-level management position in a reputable TV station, talked about his experience in the broadcasting field. He didn't major in any communication-related study, but his passion led him to the broadcasting field. He also emphasized the importance of coordination and teamwork in the broadcasting industry. So, working in a broadcasting industry requires a strong bond between the crews to help and raise each other, with one same vision; to execute an entertaining and high-quality TV program.
As an audience, now we know that the life behind the screen doesn't run as smooth as the TV programs look like. It requires creativity, persistence, and teamwork to produce high-quality programs. No wonder their efforts are paid off with entertained audiences as the outcome of a successful program.
